For a long time the "Hohe Wand" (High Wall), not far from Vienna, Austria, has been a paradise for hikers and climbers alike. Hundreds of trails and climbing routes run up the sometimes vertical walls leading to the top of a roughly eight kilometre long plateau. The Trail is named after Dr. Alois Wildenauer who worked as a priest in Grünbach am Schneeberg in the years 1911 to 1921. In his spare time Wildenauer opened many routes at the High Wall.
