I recently picked up a No. 62 Low Angle Jack Plane from @lienielsentoolworks and purchased an additional blade in order to make my own scrub plane blade. This highly cambered blade will allow me to quickly hog off wood, or just add some texture to a surface when desired.
.
I chose to camber my blade to a three inch radius using my @tormek_sharpening in conjunction with a @woodturners_wonders 200 grit CBN wheel. I used a piece of blue painters tape cut to the desired radius to guide my grinding. Worked like a charm!
.
P.S. If you'd like to make your own scrub plane blade, you don't need to grind such a tight radius if your blade is bedded at 45˚. Because the No. 62 is low angle, you have to drastically camber it to get the same effect.
