I've been reading a lot of criticism online that the Mercedes Benz C43 AMG is not a "real" AMG. However, after driving the C43 myself for a few weeks, I believe the criticism is very much misplaced.
Sure, the C43 AMG is not the top-of-the-line performance model that the Mercedes Benz C63S model is. However, the “baby AMG” is very much a performance-centric vehicle which is deserving of the AMG brand.
It’s the same kind of criticism that Porsche faced when it launched the Boxster, and later, the Cayenne and various other SUVs (and even a four-door grand touring car). In this case, the hater-ade came from people who really weren’t in the market for a Porsche of any kind.
My recommendation for those interested in a high-end Mercedes-Benz C-Class is to actually go out and drive one. Don’t let internet trolls dictate to you a decision that you could end up regretting. The C43 AMG is very much a capable car that should meet and exceed most people’s expectations.
And as a suburban road warrior, the all-wheel drive system affords you consistent performance under a variety of weather and environmental conditions. For the money, you just can’t go wrong with the Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG…a classy choice for Hollywood actresses and race-car drivers alike!
