The Speaker of Lagos state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa recently received an official presentation of Honorary Citizenship of the State of Georgia by the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus.
While receiving the honour at the Georgia Legislative Black Conference, GLBC held in Atlanta Georgia, Obasa said, "I am humbled and honoured to receive the prestigious Honorary Citizenship of the State of Georgia and as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Nigeria, this recognition is truly remarkable and historic, marking the first-ever occurrence in the 50-year history of the GLBC conference".
The Speaker also said that the presence of Congressman Jonathan Jackson, the son of the esteemed Civil Rights icon, Rev. Jesse Jackson, added an inspiring touch to the event. "I am grateful for this momentous occasion, and looking forward to fostering stronger ties between our communities for a better future" He said.
