THIS WAS EASY AND FUN TO FLY ! Go Go Bird radio controlled (RC) 'The Bennu' Flapping Ornithopter
Another little Ornithopter from our friends at Go Go Bird/Hanvon, masters of radio controlled toys that flap their wings to fly.
As you'll see in the video this really does work quite well especially on a zero wind day. It comes with 2 flight batteries that are charged with the included USB lead. Put 2 AAA batteries in the transmitter/controller and turn it on, connect a flight battery into the Bennu body, close the hatch and switch it on underneath. Click the back button to start the flapping motion and release with a very gentle push into the air.
Initially the Bennu will try and climb so push the joystick down to reduce the flapping speed and perform turns by moving the joystick left and right. Climb and gain height by pushing the joystick forwards. There are 4 buttons to make the Bennu fly in different patters if you prefer hands off flying. There are also 2 flight modes. I used the Freeflight mode in this video...but an Altitude mode can be used to maintain the Bennu's height automatically.
