L.A. Guns is a hard rock band that emerged from the Los Angeles music scene in the 1980s. Formed in 1983, the band was originally composed of guitarist Tracii Guns, vocalist Michael Jagosz, bassist Ole Beich, and drummer Rob Gardner. However, this lineup didn't last long, and soon after, Jagosz was replaced by Axl Rose, who later left to form Guns N' Roses. Phil Lewis joined as the lead vocalist in 1986, solidifying the classic lineup of the band.
The band gained popularity in the late '80s and early '90s with their self-titled debut album in 1988, which featured hits like "One More Reason" and "Sex Action." Their second album, "Cocked & Loaded" (1989), further solidified their success with tracks like "The Ballad of Jayne" and "Rip and Tear."
Throughout their history, L.A. Guns experienced various lineup changes and creative shifts. Tracii Guns departed at times but rejoined the band for several reunions and iterations. The band has released numerous albums, with various members contributing to different phases of their discography.
Their music embodies the glam metal and hard rock sound synonymous with the Sunset Strip scene of the '80s, characterized by catchy hooks, melodic guitar riffs, and energetic performances.
