Today we are stepping back from the midst of summer to the tail end of winter in a small Cotswold village and civil parish called Ampney St Mary which is located in Gloucestershire, England. In 2011 the village had a population of 218 according to the census of that year.
Flowing near the village is the Ampney Brook which is also near to the villages of Ampney Crucis and Ampney St Peter. Locally the village is known as the "Ashbrook".
Cirencester is the post town for the village.
