I wish it was easier to change a rectangle mask to a square mask in Premiere Pro. However, it isn't easy specially if you don't follow the correct steps. So, in this quick video, I'll show you how to make a square mask in Premiere in few steps. Plus, I'll share some tips so that you'll get a straight square!

First step is to select 2 nodes of the rectangle shape. Click on the first node is simply select it. Then
When clicking on the node, make sure your hand is not shaking and the mouse is not moving before holding the shift key! It's also very important that you click as center as possible on the node.

Unfortunately, it's not a straightforward process. When selecting or clicking on the second node, if it is a little away, then you'll have to redo!

Important - if the second node is a solid square, that is, it is already selected, then you should first click on the node and hold the mouse left button and then only hold the shift! Because if you hold the shift first and click on a node that's already selected, then that node would be deselected. This is will be the case after undoing the incorrect square.
