"Gigantopithecus," which is an extinct genus of ape that lived in Asia around 9 million years ago. Gigantopithecus was one of the largest primates to have ever existed, with some species reaching heights of around 10 feet (3 meters) and weighing up to 1,100 pounds (500 kilograms). However, much of what is known about Gigantopithecus comes from fossil remains, and many aspects of its biology and behavior remain speculative due to the limited fossil evidence.
