ALBANY -- The State Museum opened a special exhibit on Tuesday to honor Henry Johnson and William Shemin, two New Yorkers who posthumously received the Medal of Honor on Tuesday.
The museum is celebrating the two heroes with a display titled "The Battle for Henry Johnson and a Wrong Made Right." The exhibit showcases the brave actions of Johnson and Shemin during WWI and the public fight to get them officially recognized for their actions.
The display will be in the main lobby of the museum through Monday.
