I want to share with you this amazing recipe called Hakka Chinese stuffed tofu with minced pork. I love tofu but when it's fried and stuffed with ground pork with a delicious savoury glaze over top, it's a pure mouthwatering!
INGREDIENTS
PORK MARINATE
500 g Minced Pork
30 g Chives
10 g Spring Onions
2 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
1tbsp Abalone Sauce
1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
2 tsp Brown Sugar
3 tsp Cornstarch
White Pepper
20-30 Pcs.Tofu Puffs
FOR THE SAUCE
1/2 cup of water
1-2 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
2 tsp cornstarch
4 tbsp Water
PROCEDURE
Put the minced pork in a big bowl, wash and chop the chives and the spring onions. After chopping mix them into the minced pork.
Season with light soy sauce, abalone sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch and a dash of white pepper. Mix them together and set aside for 30 minutes.
Wash the tofu puffs, use a scissor to make a hole in the center of the tofu puffs. Then use a chopsticks, get a portion of the marinated meat and put into the hole and gently press it down.
Heat oil in a frying pan, fry the stuffed tofu puffs until golden brown, after frying arrange them into a nonstick pan. Add the water and light soy sauce let it boil, after boiling turn the fire into low heat and let it simmer for 8 mins. Pour the diluted cornstarch cook for 2 mins.
Garnish with chopped spring onions before serving. Serve with rice.
