The Spanish Government has complained to the UK over three incidents which happened in what it describes as 'waters close to Gibraltar'.
The note verbale, a form of diplomatic protest, is a reaction to the UK's own protest of a warship in Gibraltar waters.
The letter concludes that Spain will continue to exercise its sovereignty in Spanish waters.
