Doğulu was born on 19 April 1982 in Mersin. He worked during his secondary and high school years in many places as a cook and operator. He met Hande Yener through his brother, Kemal Doğulu, who is Yener's stylist. Soon afterwards, he worked with Hande Yener for a while and appeared in her song's music video called "Romeo". Then he began to receive offers of acting. He played as a leading actor in Küçük Sırlar, a Turkish remake of Gossip Girl. He has played in several successful series.

Kadir Doğulu married actress Neslihan Atagül on 8 July 2016. The couple had met on the set of Fatih Harbiye in 2013.

Neslihan Atagül (Istanbul, born 20 August 1992) is a Turkish actress. She is best known for her role in Kara Sevda[2] (2015–2017), one of the most successful Turkish series, sold to more than 110 countries and the only winner of the International Emmy Award in 2017. She is currently known for her role in the serie Sefirin Kızı as Nare Çelebi.

Also noteworthy are his leading roles in the series Fatih Harbiye (2013–2014) on the Show TV channel as Neriman Solmaz and in the films Araf and Senden Bana Kalan. Throughout her acting career, Neslihan has received numerous awards and accolades for her performances, including the Academy Award for "Best Actress" at the Tokyo International Film Festival.

Neslihan started dating her Fatih Harbiye co-star, Kadir Doğulu, in October 2013. On July 2015. They got engaged in November 2015, and were married on July 2016.
