It’s a kid’s dream to discover the world, to unravel its mysteries, to understand its secrets laws. The good news is that we humans are inherently equipped with the tools and mechanisms to do so; Mathematics. This film is a collaboration between researcher Sara Merino Aceituno and filmmaker Sameer Patel.
Sara Merino Aceituno is a PhD research student in Mathematical Physics, University of Cambridge. Her goal is to mathematically derive from the models at atomic scale, the ones at observable scale. This derivation explains why some particular patterns emerge in nature. Beautifully, hidden relations in physical phenomena are discovered through the process; this is possible only by their mathematical study.
Researcher: Sara Merino-Aceituno
Department: Pure Maths and Mathematical Statistics
Film maker: Sameer Patel
Cambridge Shorts allows University of Cambridge researchers at an early stage of their career to work with artists and film makers to make films using innovative ways to visualise research processes and outputs.
