10 Creepiest Recent Discoveries
Whoever said the world is all rainbows and sunshine really needs to check themselves. It isn’t, and there have been some pretty brutal events that have happened throughout history.
In fact, some of them are so terrifying that when archeologists found the ancient remains of these tragedies, they couldn’t help but shudder at the thought of someone going through that level of spiritual darkness, physical torture, or psychological pain!
With that being said, let’s take a look at 10 of the most recent and creepy discoveries that will have you thinking to yourself...thank God I live in the 21st Century!!

Science has brought a lot of enlightenment to this world. And it’s safe to say that most of us are skeptical about the existence of ancient curses and vengeful spirits...or are we??
The discovery of a massive, 2000-year-old sealed black granite sarcophagus in Alexandria, Egypt in July 2018 prompted speculation that opening it would unleash a world-ending curse.
When opened, the sarcophagus was found to contain only the remains of three Egyptian army officers and a reddish-brown sewage liquid, spawning the #sarcophagusjuice meme on Twitter.
Well, I’m not one to make fun of the dead remains of people...yeah, I may not believe in vengeful spirits and all, but it’s better to be safe than to be sorry.

Modern medicine has truly transformed our lives. From curing diseases that were once thought to be lethal in ancient times, to improving our sanitary conditions, life is pretty darn good. Today, you can even have a limb such as an arm or a leg stitched back in place if well-preserved before the surgery.
But that wasn’t the case more than 1400 years ago.
While excavating a 1200- to 1400-year-old necropolis in northern Italy, archaeologists found the remains of a man with a knife blade prosthetic arm.
Analysis of the man’s bones revealed that his arm had been removed through blunt-force trauma below the elbow, and that he lived for some time afterward with the knife blade prosthesis in place of a hand.
I guess it’s better to have knife in place of your arm to pick oranges and apples with than nothing at all!
8. The Elder Cheese

If you’re a cheese connoisseur and you love to put cheese in practically everything you eat, then you’re definitely going to love this one!
Archaeologists in Saqqara, Egypt uncovered another ancient find: the world’s oldest known solid cheese.
Protein analysis showed that the 3,300-year-old powdery white substance was likely a mixture of cow and either goat or sheep milk, made into a cheese, which was left in the tomb of an official who served the pharaoh.
Scientists warned that the cheese might actually be “cursed” with live bacteria that could sicken anyone who dared to taste it.
And no matter how much you love cheese...I wouldn’t advise you to go cheese tasting on a 3300-year-old relic.

World War II was a dark time for England. They were the focal point of a vicious war in Europe, and both warring factions had lost so many able-bodied men in the process.
In a war where 75 million souls were lost, rest assured there are some hidden burial sites that have never been discovered to this day.
In fact, a recent drought and massive heatwave across the UK revealed the presence of hundreds–if not thousands–of previously unknown archaeological sites, ranging from neolithic hamlets to massive henges and WWII landscape modifications.
