[Recorded 13/5/20] We all know Dewhurst buttons pretty well, you see them a lot on generic lifts and sometimes bigger name lifts such as KONE EcoDiscs, however you might not be familiar with how the buttons work behind the scenes. In this video, I try to explain the workings! The general idea for the buttons is identical no matter the size, just needs a couple of small tweaks to make them work the same when the face-plates go in. I find it interesting how the no entry indicator's circuit board seems to be fixed in place unlike the buttons, I would have thought they would have made it easily removable like the buttons for if it needed to be replaced, however I guess as that indicator wouldn't get used much there wouldn't be any need to replace it during a lift's lifecycle. Sometimes you will get Dewhurst buttons with a naturally closed contact on one side instead of two naturally open - this allows the feature with the C3d circuit board that I discuss in the video to work as shown in the clip I overlay to demonstrate the feature. My ones all have naturally open only though so I could only light up the LEDs when the button is pressed, however I could choose any number of LEDs to light up in theory: 1, 2 or all 3. I'm assuming the pair of LEDs on the C3d board get wired up the same way as the two on the simpler C3s board? Someone let me know below please.
