This is a 60 minute restorative yoga class for deep sleep. If you have difficulty relaxing, letting go of the worries of the day, and calming your nerves this restorative yoga class is going to gently and tenderly invite you into the retreat of the sleep world. When you are exhausted restorative yoga before bed can help you to relax, let go of insomnia and get a better night's sleep. Restorative yoga for sleep is the perfect bedtime ritual to help reduce stress and invite a restful sleep with relaxing yoga poses that will support your renewal.
We need restorative yoga for sleep because we live in a fast-paced world where we are running all the time, we suffer from insomnia and do not get adequate rest are often completely exhausted physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically and spiritually. Restorative yoga for sleep gives us time to wind down and prepare our bodies physically, mentally and emotionally for rest. In restorative yoga we are practicing supported, passive yoga poses. With the use of yoga props such as bolsters, blocks, blankets and walls your body is supported into a state of recovery.
The support of the props allow you to let go into the poses which teaches you to let go into sleep. Restorative yoga is a time to completely take care of yourself and surrender into the yoga poses. When you come into supported yoga poses in a restorative yoga class you can let go into a level of healing for your body, mind, spirit, emotions, and energy that is available only when you are completely supported.
Restorative yoga is ideal for anxiety and stress relief. When we take the time to restore our energy, our stress hormones, particularly, cortisol lowers and we will enter into deeper sleep at bedtime.
