Based on my (admittedly poor) experience in KSP engineering and knowledge of physics and space.
Looks completely different from typical sci-fi Star Wars or Trek designs, yet hopefully much more realistic for an actual space fighter, if one were to be required in the "near" future.
For the fuel source, I know that I said the maneuvering would be done through RCS, but I suppose that if the ship carried a reasonable amount of ignition fuel it could just share the same fuel source for both the maneuvering and cruise thrusters, the maneuvering thrusters would just be small thruster blocks or something.
Main features/ specs at a glance (for the "full" version with extended fuel tanks, based on extremely uneducated guesses):
- 5 cm kevlar titanium armored cockpit
- Approx. 12000 ms-2 of fuel
- 28 Course correctable 1x0.1 missiles with 600 ms-2 each (provides 10ms-2 for the ship for each missile that is fuel cannibalised)
- 1x 25kN cruise thruster operating at 100% relative fuel efficiency
- 12x 5kN maneuvering thrusters operating at 30% relative fuel efficiency
- 8 hours of life support
- 8 hours of battery capacity
Armaments (now im not a big military fan so these will also be uneducated guesses)
- 2x1.5cm caliber fixed mounted guns 600 rounds each
- a 6cm caliber long barreled cannon, 60 rounds
Equipment:
- integrated navigations systems based on GPS positioning
- camera based visual tracking system with digital and optical zoom on 6x ultra high resolution cameras, can be integrated with 3D digital goggles to provide a sense of depth, a local "radar" system tracking visible moving objects and automatic tagging through the use of software
- weapons targeting networked with radar tracking systems and automatic kickback compensation when required
- automatic randomized projectile evasion
