In anticipation of Transformers Rise of the Beasts, I found this KO oversized bundle of Terrorcons by AOYI MECH on discount and decided to purchase a set to have a look-see on the whats-whats. These are knock off products of the original Power of the Primes Abominus at a larger scale and some diecast metal parts. If you didn't already know, the Terrorcons are said to appear in the latest installment of the live-action Transformers movie.
My Review:
-These are not fun to play with. Ball joints are loose and barely have enough friction to hold the figure in position. Ratchet joints on the other hand are too tight and require an insane amount of strength.
-The plastic quality is hard and brittle. They are not as flexible as the original and will snap easily.
-Tabs and pegs don't fit most of the time. If forced too much, it will either break or get stuck so I have to be really careful when transforming. I had to use a screwdriver to pry open some tabs that were stuck.
-Diecast metal parts are usually welcomed but here it just makes the figure heavier and harder to balance. Combine mode is so heavy they cant do any pose.
My number 1 complaint
-Combining them is insanely difficult. The combining joints have springs made of adamantium and vibranium. You need the strength of Hercules and the power of Zues to get them to connect.
PROS:
IT LOOKS REALLY GOOD especially for the cheap price you are paying. If you are a collector who doesn't like to fiddle with your Transformers and don't intend to play around with them then these are fine for you.
While they are awesomely large, they don't scale with other combiners from Hasbro so if you are a scalefreak then you will need to collect the other KO combiners from this series. Something I don't feel enthusiastic about...
So that is my thoughts on this KO oversized Abominus! Hope you enjoyed watching!
