When I was practicing martial arts I got a rare book by Bruce Lee on mastering the One Inch Punch (which I subsequently got pretty good at)
It was two key aspects - technique and conditioning and that conditioning was predominantly for forearms, so I got pretty obsessive about the importance of that.
Charles Poliquin taught me the importance of grip and forearm training and it's a something I am really integrating into all my training now - pinch grip, crush grip and forearm training. It's having a notable impact on improving my upper body strength
