If you're unvaccinated, then you are 25 times more likely to be hospitalized or die from COVID-19, said Dr. Bryce Taylor, who works in Atrium Health's COVID ICU.
"I think we were all thinking that the summer would be easier and we would get ahead when we have such a powerful tool in the vaccine and we would get back to normalcy because it would help us get ahead of this, but we're now just heartbroken because nearly all these cases could be avoided and does not have to be in our ICU," he said.
