The Battle of Hattin occurred on July 4, 1187 AD.
After the death of the King of Jerusalem, King Baldwin IV (also known as the Leper King), the Crusader States would fall into chaos at the hands of Saladin.
The Crusaders, also known as the Franks, would put up stiff resistance in the defence of the Holy Land, but it wouldn't be enough.
The result of the Battle of Hattin was Muslim dominance in the region. It would be one of the nails in the coffin that would diminish Christian forces and power, resulting in the ultimate demise of the Crusader States one hundred years later.
