Cyclone Yaas is a currently active weakening Cyclonic Storm in the Indian Ocean. It is the second tropical cyclone, and first severe cyclonic storm of the 2021 North Indian Ocean cyclone season. This video shows satellite imagery of its slow development from a tropical storm to a severe cyclonic storm, and finally its landfall in the Indian State of Odisha.
At peak intensity, it had 1 minute sustained winds of 75 knots/ 85 mph and a minimum central pressure of 972.
