This 60 minute intermediate hatha yoga for energy class will teach you how to boost your energy by slowing down. Yoga postures, slow flow yoga and mudras will help you get more energy by taking it slow. Because our culture favors speed and activity we don’t take the time to rest and relax. In fact with all the speed and activity it becomes difficult to slow down and sleep can even elude us to the point of insomnia. We can give ourselves permission to slow down. A lot. We can rest, nap, sleep more and move at a much slower pace. Physically we can move more slowly. Today in our intermediate hatha yoga class we will practice slowing down and taking a break mentally and physically.
We will begin with some slow flow yoga with head rolls and shoulder and hip glides along with ankle windshield wipers. We will continue the slow flow yoga with knee to chest pose rolling from side to side and tiger pose. Makara mudra will help to activate your energy reserves. When we come to standing we will continue the slow flow yoga flowing from tadasana to uttanasana. We will open to more energy with cobra pose. We will round out our practice with a restorative seated forward fold and savasana.
In our culture we spend our days rushing around. Because our culture favors speed and activity we don’t take the time to rest and relax. In this class we give ourselves permission to slow down. Physically we move slowly and we slow our breath down. Mentally we rest our heads through neck releases with gravity. Join us in this class where we literally slow down the pace of life.
