Come experience the magical island of Santo Antão! Cabo Verde is an island nation about 350 miles east of Africa. Its dry most of the year, except for a couple of summer months when there is typically a rainy season. However, it has been extra dry the past two years. On most of the islands there are desert conditions and there is very little groundwater. The exception is Santo Antão, the western-most island in Cabo Verde. We are living in Mindelo just an hour ferry ride away. We have traveled there once before, on business, but we took a Saturday and went exploring. It was magical! It’s an amazing cross between Peru, Tibet, Hawaii, and New Mexico.
