Trump's first impeachment - 2020
Speaking on the Senate floor on Feb. 5, Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, said she would vote later that day to convict President Donald Trump of two articles of impeachment. Hirono criticized Republican colleagues for failing to hold the president accountable and said doing so makes them “complicit” in his wrongdoing. After the Senate voted last week to bar new witness testimony and subpoenas for documents, Trump’s acquittal has seemed all but assured. The House of Representatives impeached Trump in December on two articles of impeachment--abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
