This left handed resident surgeon does a great job for case 78 but there are some important improvements which need to be made -- including one that you can see in the photo above. Look carefully. Where is the non-dominant hand? It should be holding a chopper and inside the paracentesis because we are two-handed surgeons and you don't need to use both hands to hold the phaco probe. Simple steps now can improve your surgery tremendously and this young resident will blossom into an outstanding surgeon in the years to come. Compare your current skills to this case and ask yourself, "Am I bringing the A-game?"
