Thousands Gather in Oslo for Pride Rally Days After Shooting, Despite Police Warning
Several thousand people gathered in central Oslo, Norway, on June 27, for a rally held in solidarity after two people were killed and 21 others injured in a shooting during Pride weekend on June 25.
Footage posted to Instagram shows people marching through the streets, and gathered at the city’s Town Hall Square.
Thousands turned out for the rally, despite it being canceled by organizers following police advice, Norwegian news reports said.
According to NRK, police recommended the cancellation of Pride events as they considered Norway to be in an “extraordinary threat situation.”
