Song: 'Team Up' by Bree Sharp.
This is the 4Kids 'Mew Mew Power' English Dubbed Intro faithfully and accurately Remastered natively by yours truly, @rlaphoenix. This is not an official Remaster or version of the Intro. It is not officially endorsed by 4Kids or Kodansha.
Be it known that this is not truly 1080p HD. It is 480p resized to 1080p via Spline so that YouTube compresses it less. It is not upscaled by Waifu2x or any machine learning method. Though, it's still noticeably compressed compared to the raw ProRes deliverable, which is available on Archive.org. While it is really 480p, it's a lot higher perceivable quality than any other Mew Mew Power dub you find anywhere else, including on YouTube.
While 480p might not sound impressive to some, not all resolutions are alike, especially for older niche material. The current best official copy available is from the South African PAL DVDs which are PAL, interlaced, frame-blended, cropped, and heavily compressed on various scenes, among other issues.
Note: The only thing not "finalized" or "non-genuine" about this faithful and accurate remaster is the lens flare at the end not being perfectly right, as well as the particle explosion on the same scene behind the logo not being the exact right one.
Source Material:
1. Reference timing video from the South African PAL DVDs. The timing is correct as the PAL DVDs were converted from 24 NTSC frames to 25 PAL frames via frame blending, therefore the timing of everything is the same.
2. 'Team Up' by Bree Sharp as Dolby Digital 2.0 also from the South African PAL DVDs.
3. New higher-quality video material from the Japanese SD on Blu-ray release.
4. Particle Explosion of Orange/Pink via Particle Illusion.
5. Transparent high-quality logo with the TM symbol added back manually.
Software/Plugins used:
1. VapourSynth for deinterlacing all interlaced source material (with QTGMC). They were exchanged for Premiere Pro in lossless ProRes YUV444P10 format.
2. Adobe Premiere Pro 2023 for video editing.
3. BorisFX's Sapphire Suite for the Glint and Glow effects.
4. Particle Illusion for the Particle Explosion behind the Logo.
Thanks to:
- Hika Yagami and the Tokyo Mew Mew Power Discord for assistance in multiple ways, including research and quality assurance.
- Bendel for discovering the S_Glint effect was used for some transitions.
- Maktree for finding the Cosmos-ExtraBold font which seems to be the closest match so far.
