the 100f the greatest single VCO monosynth of all time It?
It is my opinion that the Teisco 100f might be the most powerful, unique and interesting single VCO monosynth of all time! The 100f was manufactured under both the Teisco and the Kawai name, both are extremely rare however the Teisco branded version seems to be the rarer of the two. To my knowledge both are identical builds outside of branding. So is the 100f the greatest single VCO mono synth of all time, it''s certainly the weirdest and perhaps one of the rarer synths in existence. Kawai bought Teisco in 1967, by 1969 Kawai had stopped making guitars under the Teisco name but continued to make synthesizers under both names until the early 80's. The 100f was released in 1977.
The 100f has the beefiest most resonant filter I have ever heard! There's also a high pass filter, an LFO that dives well below audio rate allowing for some really interesting modulation. Routing possibilities that allow for external audio processing,, modulating envelopes, filter modulation. There are two envelopes, audio in, cv, three modes of portmento, delay/vibrato, noise, your typical saw, triangle and square waveforms. The VCO is also capable of going below audio rate, there'sa 64' setting and one just labeled LOW where you can actually tune it from inaudible to audio rate range. It's a treasure trove of all the sci-fi vides you could want and an excellent beefy simple mono synth as well. it does bread and butter which I don't cover here and full on weird, of which you will get plenty of here!
Enjoy!
