The 1878 Treaty of Berlin between France, Austria-Hungary, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Russia, and the Ottoman Empire was the final act of the Congress of Berlin and signified the end of the Russo-Turkish War. The Treaty not only redrew the Balkan map but also created several sovereign nations that the Great Powers of Europe would fight for control over in the decades that followed.
