July 7, 2016 - 10 members of J pod (who came inland on July 3rd and have found enough food near the Fraser and other places to stay the past 4 days) traveled south from the Fraser, circumnavigating the San Juan Islands then back north up Haro Strait. We caught up to them about 4:20 p.m. in Haro Strait off the north end of San Juan Island/Henry Island and left them about 5:05 p.m. just south of Stuart Island. L87 who travels with J pod currently was alone offshore of the others. J19s, J14, and J45 were middle group inside of Onyx. J37 was near J49. J2 was in their vicinity and J40 was way inshore by herself during at least part of this encounter. In general they were traveling steady northbound with some spurts of surface active behaviors: tail lobs, breaches etc. Little J51 Nova is a super spunky and lively little fella. (thank you Monika Wieland for help with ID's and who was where)
