It has been 5 years since a 7.3 magnitude earthquake ravished and devastated Haiti, killing more than 220,000 people and leaving 300,000 injured. The massive earthquake, the biggest the region had seen in 200 years, left more than 1.5 million people homeless and resulted in an immense humanitarian crisis. Sadly this already impoverished nation is still in the throws of a desperate recovery.
We began in providing help and support in 2010 by providing monetary gifts to aid in the rebuilding efforts. Now, realizing that help is still needed, ALARM International Church is sending a team of committed volunteers to Haiti in February 2016 to provide physical support and assistance. This team, which includes educators, skilled construction workers, and ministers, will help reconstruct school classrooms and a worship center, provide educational supplies, and simply be present to offer any other support we can. Our urgency is compounded by the fact that covenant members and partners of ALARM have immediate family affected by these tragic events and circumstances.
We ask you to commit just $20 today to aid us in making an impact in the lives of people that will not be erased. Our desire is to help provide proper educational materials and accommodations, clean and safe buildings and facilities, and healthy meals. We realize that you may have a heart for mission and may never have the opportunity to go, but through your contribution you are participating in the mission field. As such you may feel compelled to sow more, and we welcome any gift amount. Whatever the amount of your gift we thank you for your heart and generosity.
