STORYLINE:
Internet influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan appeared at an appeals court in Romania's capital Bucharest Wednesday.
Judges were expected to rule on an appeal by prosecutors on last week’s decision to place the Tates under judicial control and house arrest following the latest evidence produced in their new case.
If successful, the appeal will lead to the Tates going back into police custody, probably by the end of the day.
On Saturday Romanian authorities towed away a fleet of luxury vehicles from the home of the divisive social media personality, days after he was placed under house arrest following new human trafficking allegations.
Andrew Tate, 37, and his brother Tristan, 36, both former kickboxers and dual British-U.S. citizens with millions of followers on social media and known for their misogynistic views, are already awaiting trial in Romania, along with two women.
They face charges of human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to exploit women.
Andrew Tate is also charged with rape in that case.
Both have always denied any wrongdoing.
