*oil tanker falls into Jhelum at Sumbal, Body of driver recovered after hard efforts*

Bandipora July 05: A oil tanker has fallen into the river Jehlum in Wangipora, Sumbal in North Kashmir's Bandipora district.

An official told that during the intervening night one unknown oil tanker on way from Srinagar towards Sumbal skidded off the road near Wangipora checkpost and fell into river Jhelum along with the driver.

He said that the searches were launched to fish out the driver and the tanker and finally body has been retrieved and shifted to CHC Sumbal for medico-legal formalities.

The deceased driver was identified as Jitender Singh, son of Inderjeet Singh, resident of Bharakh District Reasi.

Meanwhile police have taken cognizance and started investigation regarding the fatal accident.
