A Useful Idiot does one of his occasional nods to his first loves - art,music, film, and literature and marks the passing of amazing Swiss surrealist painter, sculptor and designer, a visionary, a genius in an age when those words are thrown around far far too generously.Like all true geniuses his work was driven by his demons, in this case, his lifelong night terrors.For better or worse, his work is mostly known through collaborations in the pop culture field including album covers and Hollywood movies.That said, his design work for the "Alien" movie series is astonishing and, as it turns out, timeless as those movies still amaze due to his work.Giger also has had a huge affect across pop culture and modern surrealism as well and his influence can be seen everywhere now.In the end, truly there was only one HR Giger, a singularity, and he is gone.
