STORYLINE:
Scuffles broke out in Mexico City as hundreds of people protested against a contentious plan to overhaul the country’s judiciary.
Protesters clashed with police who set off tear gas.
The protesters broke into Mexico's Senate on Tuesday, forcing the body to take a temporary recess for the safety of the senators.
Senators then headed to another location - the old Senate building - where they restarted their debate.
Protesters once again tried to enter the alternate location.
The protesters were angry that Mexico's ruling party, Morena, wrangled the votes it needed to jam through the proposal after one member of an opposition party flipped to support it.
