World champion Rahmat Erwin Abdullah shattered all three of his Southeast Asian Games men's 73kg weightlifting records to defend his gold medal on Saturday in Hanoi.
Rahmat set new marks in the snatch with a lift of 155kg, then broke his clean & jerk mark with a lift of 190kg for a new SEA Games record total of 345kg.
The total was better than his winning mark of 343kg at the 2021 world championships in Uzbekistan.
Thailand's Anucha Doungsri, who also broke the existing SEA Games clean & jerk mark, won silver with Muhammad Erry Hidayat of Malaysia winning the bronze.
