There are thousands of termite mounds across the Northern Territory .. the further north you go ..the larger they get .. there are two types of termite mounds in Litchfield .. the more common cathedral mounds .. and these magnetic termite mounds .. these termites build their homes along a water course in a north-south orientation .. their broad sides face east-west .. there are hundreds of them.
