The beloved actress and host Maria Menounos was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which accounts for about 3% of all cancers in the US and about 7% of all cancer deaths. It's a cancer often caught in late stages, after it has grown larger and has possibly spread to lymph nodes or other tissues.
But fortunately for Maria, thanks to the Prenuvo Whole Body Scan, she was able to catch it at
Stage II when the cancer has grown, but it hasn't spread. She has since had surgery to remove the tumor along with part of her pancreas, her spleen, a large fibroid and 17 lymph nodes and is now cancer free.
Up to 75% of patients who undergo surgery will have the cancer return. It can advance from stage 1 to stage stage 4 in as quickly 14months. Despite the overall poor prognosis, up to 10 percent of patients who receive an early diagnosis and treatment can become disease-free after treatment.
