My solo guitar arrangement of The Police's King of Pain with notation and guitar tab.
Based on The Police's original song from the album Synchronicity, written by Sting. This is a solo guitar arrangement and not a direct transcription of the original guitar parts.
The guitar played in this video is a Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster. Reverb and delay come from the HX Stomp.
The arrangement was written out using Musescore and has also been uploaded to Musescore.com as a PDF file for anyone who wishes to print it. The score can also be screenshot and I have left time at the end of the video for this. The arrangement is written out with notation and guitar tab as I played it, I have not included fingering information as these choices I feel are better left to the individual player, though the video can serve as a reference for anyone who wishes to see the fingerings I have used.
I previously posted a performance of this piece on my other channel and after several requests I decided to make the arrangement available for those who wish to learn it. I have set up this new channel Solo Guitar Arrangements for those who are interested in this specific kind of content and to make all of my arrangements available in one place.
I will be focusing on how to play solo guitar arrangements of popular songs and deeper cuts. I find that there are already many excellent resources on YouTube for learning jazz or classical solo guitar arrangements but not so many for pop and rock songs which will be my focus here.
Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions regarding this arrangement or the channel in general and I will do my best to incorporate your feedback.
'I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign,
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain'.
If you enjoy this video please consider subscribing to the channel.
Peace.
