Only a few months ago Indonesia – a country of 26 million people – had a handle on its Covid-19 cases. Now it is in the midst of one of Asia’s worst Covid-19 outbreaks with 38,391 cases reported on July 8, 2021, a new daily record, as well as 852 fatalities. The Post’s Jakarta-based reporter Resty Woro Yuniar explains how the country’s Covid response unravelled.
