Israel Defence Forces claim that over 450 UNRWA employees in Gaza are military operatives in terror groups in Gaza. In the wake of the Gaza aid convoy disaster, the European Union was set to resume payments frozen to UNRWA pending investigations into UN staff involvement in October’s attack that killed over a thousand civilians in Israel. Israel alleges that at least 12 of the UN’s Gaza staff participated in the Hamas attacks, leading more than a dozen countries to suspend their funding to one of the enclaves biggest humanitarian agencies. The UN fired 12 of its accused staff members.
