Thales is one of the seven sages of ancient Greece, a collective of rulers, thinkers and profoundly wise individuals who helped shape the world of Archaic Greece. Thales was born in Miletus, one of the most powerful city-states in Greece and became known as the first philospher in the Western world. Among the seven sages, he is the one who mostly contributed to intellectual and scientific thinking.
