The first Wolverine to appear on screen was via a guest appearance in the 1982 animated series: Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. This motion picture debut would be followed up by the 1989 animated television pilot: Pryde of the X-men. In both of these television projects, Wolverine was actually an Australian Character – marking a significant departure from the Canadian roots of the character in the comics. The irony two non-Australian voice actors voicing an Australian Wolverine, and a non-Canadaina Hugh Jackman, having played the first live action version of the Canadian character for over 2 decades now, is why we’re hoping he plays at least ONE AUSTRLIAN VARIANT in Deadpool & Wolverine. (Relax Canada… he’s still your boy… there are two variants that aren’t though… maybe three…?)
