When homeowners Jane and Craig downsized to their Cabbagetown Victorian home, they called on Designer Andi Wheelband, principal designer at Two Birds Design. Their vision was to create a modern open-concept space that maintained some of the home’s architectural features, like corbels, ceiling medallions and stair bannisters. In the kitchen, a u-shaped layout with a sectioned off work station adds function, and walls and cabinets painted in Chantilly Lace keeps things light and airy. In the living-dining room, an eclectic mix of furniture, lighting and a revamped porcelain mantel gives it a warm and elevated look. Upstairs, the principal bedroom and ensuite get a major facelift, including a bedroom that was transformed into a sprawling walk-in closet.
