The Ohio agreement on the unification of the ruined city of Mostar
was greeted with hope by both its Bosnian and Croatian citizens on
Friday (10/11). News of the resolution has been slowly filtering
through to people on both sides of the River Neretva. Much of the
ancient town was destroyed by fierce fighting during the
Croat-Bosnian war in 1993. Pictures of the famous Stari Most
bridge being blown up by the Croats caused shock around the world.
But now there is hope that the Muslims of East Mostar and the
Croats on the west bank will be properly united.
