and yet again i make a cover purely as an excuse to fuse two of my interests together. lately, i've been following the progress of an animated short film called "the lovers" by @studioheartbreak. it's story takes place in a dark fantasy version of the philippines, and it features two sapphic main characters. i was really excited by this project since i don't always see queer filipino representation, especially in animation, and ESPECIALLY in something that has had as major of a global reach as @studioheartbreak has.

i wanted a way to weasel a cover of "mermaids" by florence + the machine onto my channel, as i've been vibing to it lately, and i figured i'd pair that song with my current love for "the lovers!"
