The #PowerRangersPreservationProject Presents: The Lost Wild Force Morphs!

PRWF Day 1 Dailies reveal raw footage of the original morph sequences — almost 100% of which was tossed out. With the combined help of our partners HurricaneGold [VFX], Kadam’s Edits [Edit], and @PR_Media_Info [Archival], we proudly present those morphs as originally shot nearly 23 years later! No copy-pasted elements. No Gaoranger footage [minus the spinning Growl Phone intros].

The footage captured still aimed to copy the Gaoranger Morph beat-for-beat — but every single element was filmed by the US cast with original footage; from the full-body wide to the profile close-ups, and even the helmets.

In the final in-show morphs, only the US actors’ heads [and Taylor’s torso] were used; even in profile close-ups, the Rangers’ bodies were Gaoranger from the white collars down, and the helmets were the Gao sequence CGI renders. We can’t definitively say whether any heads from this footage were leveraged, though it’s clear that at least Taylor’s profile was reshot. The reasons why remain unknown, though ultimately we anticipate copy-pasting heads may have been a quicker and easier [see: cheaper] temporary solve in anticipation of the more costly spin morphs down the line.

Where’s Black? Sometime between the Day 1 Call Sheet being issued and footage being shot on November 29th, Chille DeCastro was removed from production. No footage was ever filmed with Chille as Danny; only the profile shot of the Black Helmet [seen in last week’s announcement] was captured. By Day 2 [November 30], Jack Guzman was present as Danny on-set. It is currently unknown whether or not Jack also shot a fully original sequence at a later point.
