Dracula is very sad that Mina is not by his side and he can't stop thinking about her. If he's ever been in love he can't recall. Even though he has his subjects and sisters by his side, it still doesn't seem to stop the pain that he feels.

He's madly in love with Mina and even painted a portrait of her and he doesn't want to keep living without her. Such emptiness, such despair.
